Save the date. Dale2Dorp announced. 8-10 June 2023.

Posted on Thu February 2, 2023.

Ultra distance Barrydale cyclist Alan Hardaker has been thinking about something while peddling down the endless roads of his multi day (and nights) ultra distance endurance events ; He's been thinking about how to make last years Dorp2 Dorp cycling event even better this year !

'Thinking room'

There was the first thought of a slight tweak in the name from Dorp2Dorp to Dale@Dorp to recognise the role of Barrydale in a parthers program.Yes, from a riders perspective it'll still be the freedom of an epic ride across the 100 Kms of majestic Klein Karoo landscape that separate the Dale of Barrydale and the Dorp of Van Wyks Dorp on Day 1 , 9th June...Then the return 100 km  ride the next day, 10 June (making for a 200 Km round trip in 2 days).

And then  the culmination of the first days ride at the Spekboom restaurant:And the riders stop over at Rooiburg Lodge:

But new this year will be the involvement of the hotel in  Melvill & Moon Grand Picnic styled water points 1/2 way there on day 1 and 1/2 way back on day 2.

Then there'll be the magic of US cycling Chef Pawlie Baboli's on ride transportables (riding food)

But importantly an item on the partners program will be the prep and cooking of Pawlie's transportables.

Pawlie Baboli speaks about his 'Bike Bites'.

Then onto the partners program. Gone are the days of your non riding partner being left at home while you're having fun. With this partners program the only wish might be that you're riding for longer.

What race/cycling adventure boasts a non riders partners program ? This one. The surprise discovery of Barrydale for many is the Karoo Art's To Do list Hotel Highlights
